You spray in into the toilet bowl before you go no.2 (thats the poo of Poo-Pourri), and the spray floats on top of the toilet water to create a fresh-smelling barrier (thats the porridge of Poo-Pourri). It traps the doors inside the toilet bowl so that the stink does not come out of the toilet, which keeps the air in the bathroom smelling fresh and clean.
